Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda trek have been the favorite of trekkers because of their richness in expansive natural views, landscapes, biodiversity, vegetation, and the cultural significance of this place. Located towards the north of Kathmandu, the Langtang region borders China and is the nearest Himalayan region from the capital. Langtang is known as the “Valley of Glaciers” and also offers stunning views of the Himalayas i.e. Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Langshisha Ri, Yala peak, Gangchempu, Ganja-La range, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shankar, and various other snow-capped peaks around the region. The natural vegetation, flora, and fauna are protected under Langtang National park which adds to the attraction of the valley.

The Langtang region is inhabited mostly by the Tamangs and Sherpas, the culture is quite similar to those of Tibetans. The beautiful valley comprises many monasteries which we witness while on our trek. We’ll begin our journey from Kathmandu, driving to Syapur Besi, where we begin our trek. We’ll trek to Kjangjin Ri to witness the majestic Langtang Himal along with its surrounding massif. After the trek to Langtang, we descend to Thulosyarbu and walk uphill towards Gosaikunda. We’ll trek down to Sundarijal upon return where we’ll be picked up by a Van to be back to the hotel.

Gosaikunda is a lake with natural and cultural significance. This lake is situated at an altitude of 4380 meters above sea level. A large number of pilgrims and shamans (Traditional village superstitious doctor) gather here during August each year on the occasion of the Janai Purnima festival. The rock amid the lake is regarded as a shrine of Lord Shiva. Gosaikunda lake offers a spectacular view of the mountains and nature around. The Langtang valley and Gosaikunda Lake trek being surrounded by High Himalayan ranges, biodiversity, natural beauty, ancient monasteries, remote cheese factories, glaciers, colorful Rhododendron forests in the spring season, and small peaks gives you panoramic views of the snow-capped mountains as well as the Secret/ or The Frozen Lake.
